Sulaboul scarves are comprised of thick and thin silk from different parts of the cocoon. Silk is hand raised, spun and dyed in natural colours and woven on traditional handlooms. These scarves feature the weaving traditions of the Lao women. Sulaboul scarves are comprised of bands of thick and thin silk that come from the outside layer of the cocoon and when woven together, playfully catch the sun. Subtle variations in colour may occur, depending on season and availability of the plant dye.
Each should be considered a unique work of traditional art. All the scarves are dyed in rich, natural dyes and look good on both men and women or on a table as the centerpiece. This rustic Sulaboul scarf is handmade in Ban Bolikhan village, Bolikhamxay province, which located in the middle part of Laos.
This scarf is made of 100% silk and is coloured with natural dyes made from “Indigo”, in Laos they call it “ Kham” which grown everywhere in Laos.
