Our Fair Trade jewellery collections are sourced from ethical producers in Lao and Cambodia.
Cambodian jewellery

We have a range of beautiful, colourful handmade clay bead necklaces, bangles and earrings all made by a team of talented artisans. They are employed by a social enterpise organisation who follow fair trade principles and provide above award wages, good working conditions including housing, food, education, medical and dental and a happy work environment.

It was in the 1970’s that the savage Pol Pot regime brought civil war to Cambodia and still renders its mark with 30% of people living below the poverty line. However, this tragic history does not impede on the spirit of the Cambodian people and it is amazing to see a country building and developing for a positive future.

Postwar debris such as bomb casings and bullet shells are handcrafted into stunning, stylish pieces of handmade Cambodian ethiical jewellery.

Lao jewellery

Unique Lao jewellery from the same master craftsmen who produced jewellery for the Royal family. Our collection of Lao silver jewellery is more than 95% pure, unlike the silverware in most other countries, including Thailand, which is usually only 92.5% sterling silver. In the 1980s and 1990s, silver trading and silver crafting declined quite drastically, since very few people could afford to buy silver anymore. Since about 2000 the demand for Lao handcrafts like silver jewellery and silverware has increased, thereby breathing life back to this ancient art form.
