Cambodia has a long tradition of hand-woven silk, but silk weaving was nearly abandoned during the civil war as weavers were forced to work in the fields. It is only during the last years of relative stability that a resurgence of the Cambodian silk sector has taken place, with a new wave of contemporary designs.
acoco have designed this unique range of cushions and table runners made from Cambodian raw silk. The raw silk is hand woven by rural producer groups in Takeov province and are made by socially disadvantaged women in Phnom Penh.
